Re-branding Makes a Difference in Fulfilling a Non-profit’s Mission

A completely new look and refined messaging increases awareness of the Case Management program among individuals with a substance use disorder.

There are many other aspects of a person’s life that need to be in order for recovery from substance use disorder to be successful. The Case Management program was created to help clients identify and overcome those challenges. Whether it’s getting into treatment, obtaining childcare, crafting a job resume or needing assistance with daily tasks, the Case Management program has cultivated a person-centered approach to provide clients with a wide range of assistance and services tailored to their individual needs.

Southwest Behavioral Health recognized the need for an awareness campaign that would simply and clearly explain what the Case Management program offers to individuals struggling with substance use disorder.

The ity team began the comprehensive re-branding effort by conducting research that included interviews with Case Managers from all nine participating PA counties. The results gave our team better insight on how to differentiate Case Management’s unique services from other programs targeted to the same audience.

Next, ity developed both a brand identity package and a creative advertising campaign to communicate Case Management’s mission to the public and to increase the number of people taking advantage of their services. Everything from collateral materials and digital ads to web videos and TV commercials were produced. ity also completely redesigned the Case Management website to simplify the path for prospective clients to find the help they need.

SEM and an effective media buy were the finishing touches that made sure the message got out to the people who needed it most.
